Mestre Maurici

UTSET 1894

2024

Mestre Maurici (Catalan for “Master Maurici”) is a chef’s knife collection that seamlessly combines the design language, materials, and techniques of today with the heritage of how knives were made 130 years ago, when UTSET 1894 was founded by Maurici Utset.

The collection’s design language elegantly unites tradition and technology. It features a curved blade that complements the chef’s natural cutting and slicing motion, paired with a handle crafted from two carved, stabilized birch root pieces.

The result is a knife that embodies the craftsmanship of 130 years ago, but with the advanced materials, technology, and expertise of the present.

Each Mestre Maurici knife has been meticulously designed to honor the full heritage of UTSET 1894, a legacy built and refined over four generations of master knifemakers. This lineage is symbolized by the knife’s pin, which features four points, each representing one generation.

For this collection, we collaborated with Ramón Utset, one of Spain’s most renowned knife experts, while also leveraging the commercial and technical expertise of COMAS.
